Television Presenter, Actor, Comedian, Compere/MC, Voice Artist, Scriptwriter, Voice/Acting coach Popular Television and Stage personality, Jailoshini Naidoo is the lead actor in SA blockbuster “Keeping up with the Kandasamys” and Kandasamys the Wedding. She’s currently one of the lead actors in the television series “Imbewu:The Seed” which airs every evening at 9.30pm on ETV and presents the Weekend breakfast on Lotusfm.

Jailoshini is in demand as an MC and has compered many private functions, as well as huge Corporate and Company events including the Emirates Launch, Absa, Eskom, Total National Awards, Zee TV (Zee Night), Sanlam, Air Mauritius, ACSA, Old Mutual, Price Waterhouse Coopers, Standard Bank, SAIPA , Mercury Durban Theatre Awards, and Shoprite KZN Big Brand Suppliers Awards.

As a Speaker, Jailoshini presents Motivational talks, and offers Confidence, Communication and Presentation Skills Workshops to Companies and individuals and offers individual media training courses.

She has had a long and varied career as an Actor, Comedian and Television Presenter. She studied at the University of Durban Westville, graduating with a Bachelor of Pedagogics Degree with majors in Drama, English and Education, followed by Public Relations at Damelin and Communications Majors through Unisa. 

Jailoshini has a huge fan base, as an anchor Presenter on SABC2’s Eastern Mosaic. She’s equally at ease on glam TV shoots, interviewing Celebrities around the world, as when going into the poorest, communities, where her compassion, love and affection for people is most evident in these community based projects.

As a multi-skilled artist, Jailoshini is a popular actress and comedian, and has performed at major venues around South Africa, including The Market Theatre, Baxter Theatre, The Playhouse as well as the Grahamstown Festival and the Hilton Arts Festival. Some of her most memorable performances include lead roles in the multi award winning Kickstart Productions ‘God of Carnage’ and ‘Jungle Book’, ‘Queens of Comedy’, ‘Jimbo’, ‘The Coolie Odyssey’, ‘Curry on Laughing’ (she co wrote this and other projects) and her one woman show ‘1949’ in which she played 38 characters. In 2010, she performed ‘At the Edge and other Cato Manor Stories’, another one-woman show where she played over 30 characters, this time as part of the Shared Histories Festival (India- South Africa). In 2013, she took this show to India and the Edinburgh festival.

Other movies include the British film, ‘The Eastern Bride’, the Italian film, ‘Karol’ and popular British series ‘Strike Back 2'.

As one of Durban’s most popular Stand Up Comedians her performances in Comedy Shows include ‘Comedy Fever 2010’ and ’Queens of Comedy’. She has performed Stand Up Comedy for many Private and Corporate functions including Standard Bank, SAB and Durban Chamber of Commerce. She also performed at the Prince of Dubai’s birthday party in the Seychelles.

Jailoshini also works as a Voiceover Artist, lending her voice to many Radio Adverts and performing in Corporate Videos. She has played a variety of characters on Radio Dramas and worked as a Radio Newsreader in Oslo, Norway.

Awards include ‘Mercury Theatre Personality Of The Year Award’ in 2011 and the Mercury Durban Theatre Award for ‘Best Comedy.’ She’s been nominated twice for FNB Vita Awards, and six times for Durban Theatre Awards, all in the category ‘Best Lead Actress’. In 2011,Jailoshini she received a ‘Golden Peacock Award’ from the Indian Academy of South Africa for ‘Outstanding Contribution To The Arts’, particularly in Stage, Television and Comedy.  BOOK NOW!
